The photos on the left were taken prior to surgery. This is the Ludwig pattern of hair loss. In this type of hair loss there is relative preservation of the hairline. Behind the hairline there is pronounced hair loss. This man had one session of 260 single follicular unit grafts placed at his hairline and 730 multiple follicular unit grafts, two follicular units each, placed within the pre-transplant thinning hair area.
